Story by Airman 1st Class Whitney Laine

    92nd Air Refueling Wing

Team Fairchild hosted the 24th Annual Operation Warmheart Golf Tournament at Wandermere Golf Course in Spokane, to raise
money to provide goods and support for Airmen and their families July 27.

Operation Warmheart is organized by first sergeants to assist military members and their families during the holidays and
throughout the year, specifically to purchase food items and aid in emergencies during difficult times.

“Operation Warmheart helps ensure Airmen stay mission ready,” said Master Sgt. Jeremy Reed, 22nd Training Squadron first
sergeant. “Often, an Airman’s focus is on their job but when they experience hardship in their personal lives they can become
distracted from their primary duties. Operation Warmheart is available to help Airmen regain balance through grants, food and
    other resources.”

After being previously supported by Operation Warmheart, Reed believes it is important to have the opportunity to give back as
a first sergeant and a wingman.

First sergeants hold various events throughout the year to boost morale and raise money to continue to provide Airmen
    assistance through Operation Warmheart.

“The contributions gathered from the golf tournament go toward offering Airmen support in the future,” said Master Sgt.
Michael Weiant, 336th Training Support Squadron first sergeant. “First sergeants distribute water during base exercises, offer
financial aid with grants and provide meals and gifts to Airmen and their families during the holidays through Operation
    Warmheart.”
