MANAMA, Bahrain -- Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain Office of Counsel conducted ethics training for military, civilian, and local national personnel, Jan. 7, 2019. In an effort to build command camaraderie, this year’s training was a fun filled atmosphere to discuss the very serious topic. The training introduced a series of scenarios in an intense game of Ethics Jeopardy.
Ethics Jeopardy offered employees a game show style interactive training to ensure they attain the skills needed to not place the command’s ethics in jeopardy. The purpose of ethics training was to enable employees with the ability to respond to ethical dilemmas they may face within the organization. The training helped employees identify organizational issues as well as communicating with stakeholders.
Training encouraged employees at NAVSUP FLC Bahrain to engage in open, clear, and receptive communication. The training focused on ways leaders can set expectations and lead by example to create a strong ethical culture in the work environment.
Ethics Jeopardy questions provided government -wide guidance on ethical standards of conduct within each category. The topics covered in ethics jeopardy included: conflicts of interest, contractors in the workplace, political activities, and gifts. Members of the audience answered challenging, multiple-choice questions related to ethical scenarios faced by employees on a daily basis.
“It is critical for command leadership to emphasize ethical decision making so the right judgements are made when faced with difficult situations. The ethics training provided employees a vital way to set standards while reiterating the importance of integrity,” said Eli Corin, assistant counsel, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain. “It also emphasized the importance of discussing ethical dilemmas with peers, supervisors, and ethic counselors before making decisions.”
NAVSUP FLC Bahrain ethics training demonstrates the commitment to personnel by guaranteeing that they have the moral foundation to conduct best business practices.
