A water survival refresher course was held, Nov. 30, 2018, at the Linda Wiginton Aquatic Center. The training was conducted to recertify several Air Force personnel in water survival training for initial instructor crew training of the KC-46 Pegasus.
The course was a two-part instruction and requalification, which included a classroom refresher and an in-water demonstration. Nearly 30 Airmen utilized the local pool to receive refresher training.
Members of the 19th Air Force, 97th Air Mobility Wing and Air Mobility Command took part in the training taught by the 97th AMW.
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Mark Belcher, the NCO in charge of continuation training assigned to the 97th Operations Squadron certified with water survival training and has a thorough knowledge of the equipment used to teach the class locally.
