    525th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade

FORT BRAGG, N.C. –This month’s ‘Lightning’ Brigade Soldier Spotlight is Spc. Adam Marowelli, Geospatial Intelligence Imagery Analyst with Bravo Company, 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, 525th Military Intelligence Brigade.

A native of Hudson, Michigan, Spc. Marowelli has been in the Army for less than two years and has been assigned to the ‘Lightning’ Brigade since December of 2017.

Marowelli is being recognized for earning the prestigious title of 525th Military Intelligence Brigade Soldier of the Quarter. He competed against three other competitors to win the title, and looks forward to the brigade’s Soldier of the Year board in the coming months.

    Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Running trails, visiting the lake, long road trips, anything having to do with the outdoors.

Q: What are your long term goals?
A: I’m presently in the process of finishing school with Campbell University, and interested in submitting a packet for the Inter-service Physician’s Assistant Program down the road.

Q: Why did you join the Army?
A: I have several family members who have served in the military, and I felt that it was my time to do the same.

Q: What is your favorite part about being a Soldier?
A: My favorite part is the cohesive teamwork that comes together to make a successful mission. Without that teamwork, the success wouldn’t happen. There’s also a sense of belonging in serving in this organization.

Q: Why did you choose your MOS?
A: My recruiter was a Geospatial Engineer, so there was a lot of information on the MOS initially. But the opportunity to be on the forefront of the Army’s intelligence system and realize that potential firsthand was definitely appealing.

Q: What is your favorite part about Ft. Bragg?
A: I like the environment here. The land layout here is similar to my home in southeast Michigan. Pine trees, the trails, the sense that you’re kind of in the middle of nowhere but there’s a little bit of everything around.

Q: What is your favorite part about the 525th?
A: Since I arrived, this unit has been adamant about professional development. There’s a lot of respect here for personal ambitions, and that allows for a lot of personal growth.

Q: Is there anything you’d like to add?
A: To my peers, I’d insist that they not hold back on their self-development. Whether it’s obtaining tuition assistance, attending service schools, pursuing a commission; the leadership here is very forthcoming about helping people reach their potential.
