REDSTONE ARSENAL, Alabama – Maj. Gen. Douglas M. Gabram, commanding general, U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, conducted a town hall at the Bob Jones Auditorium Nov. 26 for members of the command.

Gabram addressed several topics, including command current events, the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, as well as presenting an opportunity for the workforce to share their concerns with command leadership.

“We recognize the good, the bad and the ugly,” Gabram said. “We know we have some issues and we are working to fix those.”

Gabram also discussed how each team member is important to AMCOM and its future.

“We are all leaders,” Gabram said. “Whether you lead one person or whether you lead five, 10, 15 or you lead yourself. Remember that as you move forward.

“What are we doing to set the conditions so you are replaced by the right person?” he asked. “Who are we bringing up and coaching? We should always be looking for the next person.”

In the same fashion, William Marriott, AMCOM deputy to the commanding general, discussed civilian workforce issues and mentioned the Combined Federal Campaign.

Comparatively, AMCOM Command Sgt. Maj. Mike Dove took time to talk about the command’s Soldiers and the great things they are doing for the nation.

During the Town Hall, Gabram presented numerous Years of Service awards and the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service medals to Steve Fisher, Kyndel Forman and Kathryn White.

The following team members were named as AMCOM’ newest Most Valuable Players: Phillip Anderson, Greg Coulter, Doris Mitchell, Matthew Ragain, Richard Salcido, Bruce Thorn, Ty Whisenant and Alice Williams.
Gabram also recognized Pat Beumer, Eric Blystone, Steve Corder, Mitch Hailstone, David Johnson, Yvette Krasts, Jason Littrell, Tomiko Mason, Demetrice Watson and Monica Williams for their outstanding achievements and presented each with a Commander’s Coin for Excellence.

“We have a lot of folks worthy of recognition,” Gabram said. “If you have somebody you want to recognize, please talk to your supervisors, get it pushed up the chain and it will get approved.”

Before wrapping up, Gabram thanked everyone for their dedication and wished them all well during the upcoming holiday season.

“On behalf of the whole chain of command, I hope everybody has a great holiday,” Gabram said. “Make sure you spend the time with your families.”
