    RENO, Nev. (Dec. 2, 2018) – The Nevada Air National Guard hosted its annual award ceremony today at the Nevada Air National Guard Base fuel cell hangar here.

    “I want to thank all the Airmen for the work they do to make the Nevada Air National Guard as great as it is,” said Brig. Gen. Ondra Berry, assistant adjutant general, Nevada Air National Guard.

    The Nevada Air National Guard presented more than 15 awards, including the Adjutant General’s Silver State Sentinel Award for Excellence, the Nevada Air National Guard’s Diversity Award and the Chiefs’ Council Award.

    This year, the 152nd Airlift Wing received the National Guard Bureau Excellence in Diversity Award for Best Air National Guard Unit.

    “It shows the efforts and work that our individuals, units and the Military Department in Nevada put into making sure no one is left behind or not included by the members of the Nevada National Guard,” said Brig. Gen. William Burks, adjutant general, Nevada National Guard.

    The Nevada Air National Guard also announced the nominations for Airman of the Year, non-commissioned officer of the year, senior non-commissioned officer of the year and company grade officers of the year. Winners will be announced during the annual Outstanding Airman of the Year Banquet at 6 p.m. Jan. 5 at the Atlantis Resort Casino.

    The following are the awards presented in the order in which they were given during the ceremony:
    Chief Master Sgt. Gerald L. Larson Scholarship: Bailey Brown
    Unit Career Advisor of the Year: Master Sgt. Coleen Glynn
    Recruiter of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Kraig Kimball
    Top Professional Recruiter of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Nicole Munley
    Diversity Award: Master Sgt. Caroline Cousineau
    Excellence in Diversity Award, Best Air National Guard Unit: 152nd Airlift Wing
    Chiefs Council Award: Fred Barton
    Commander’s Excellence Award:
    • State Headquarters: Lt. Col. Brian Gunderson
    • 152nd Airlift Wing: Maj. Christopher Solberg
    • 152nd Maintenance Group: Senior Master Sgt. Reuben Telles
    • 152nd Mission Support Group: Deployment Readiness Team

    Non-commissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Rita Middleton; Staff Sgt. Chelsea Canaday; Tech. Sgt. Nicole Munley; Tech. Sgt. Katie Cromeens.

    Senior Non-commissioned Officers of the Year: Senior Master Sgt. Sherdean Din; Senior Master Sgt. Jason Barlow; Master Sgt. Brandan Trehal; Master Sgt. Thomas Henson.
