Thousands of troops trained at Fort McCoy in November 2018 for institutional training, extended combat training, and weekend training.
Most of the training on post took place early on in the month, according to Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security officials. Later in the month, training areas were closed for the annual gun-deer season on post.
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin. The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
