Marine Corps Community Services’ annual Trunk or Treat was unBOOlievably packed to the witches brim with chillingly decorated vehicles, hauntingly costumed families, exciting games and more at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Oct. 30, 2018.
Nearly 100 vehicles were decked out with their spookiest designs displayed to terrify patrons while the car owners handed out candy to the tinier trick-or-treaters of the families.
“There are a lot of events out in town, but we believe that families feel a little safer in this environment because it’s close to home,” said Beth McKenzie, the Trunk or Treat coordinator and Cherry Point MCCS marketing director. “In addition to the trunk or treating part, we have different games and free face-painting that the Cherry Point Officer’s Spouses Club and the Cherry Point Enlisted Spouses Club are doing.”
Activities available for families also included touch-the-truck displays, ring toss, a potato sack race, bowling, and a high striker strength tester.
“It’s really cool that you can come and hang out with your family and interact with everyone else that’s here and have a good time,” said Luis, 12.
After patrons had a chance to see all the ghastly trunks and play all the wickedly fun games, a Halloween-themed movie played for all the Cherry Point community to enjoy.
“I would definitely come again, it was a great time,” said Luis.
