Sara E. So, of Canton, a personnel officer with the Taylor-based, 210th Military Police Battalion, Michigan National Guard, was recently promoted to the rank of Major.
So is currently the full-time officer-in-charge of the personnel section in the 210th Military Police Battalion. She has earned 12 years of military service and is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a minor in Military Science and Leadership.
So commissioned as an officer through the Eastern Michigan University Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program. She deployed from 2012-2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, and the Army Achievement Medal thus far in her career.
She is married to Jae Ho So and has one daughter, Guinevere “Winnie” Jean So.
