    MIHAIL KOGALNICEANU AIR BASE, Romania - U.S. Army Lt. Col. Kelvin Swint, Maj. Steven Pyles, 1st Lt. Andy Michel and Sgt. Maj. Patrick Maurin, the leaders of 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, and Capt. Ellis Parks of the 382nd Public Affairs Detachment attached to the 1st ABCT, 1st CD's Public Affairs Office met with Polish soldiers 1st Lt. Jozef Niedzwiedzki, 1st Lt. Damian Wojsa and Maj. Mavun Szulewa to discuss future joint training opportunities Sept. 3, 2018.

    The meeting was held in support of Atlantic Resolve, an enduring training exercise between NATO and U.S. forces. The meeting focused on coordinating future training opportunities for U.S. and Polish forces to come together and train in a joint environment.

    After the meeting was conducted, Swint gave Niedzwiedzki, Wojsa and Szulewa a BN coin as a result of the continuous partnership between 2-5 Cav and Polish forces.

    The meeting transitioned from the office to the motor pool where U.S. Soldiers talked to the Polish soldiers about their M1A2 Abrams tanks and M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles. U.S. and Polish forces shared information regarding their equipment capabilities along with stories and experiences.

    The exchange of coins, smiles and handshakes signified the importance of the U.S. and foreign countries taking the opportunity to train as a cohesive unit while establishing good relations across the world.
