The electrical technicians trained long and hard throughout the week and weekend to be sure that they were getting the sufficient amount of training needed to increase their skill level proficiencies.
“My instructors are doing an amazing job, and I have been getting a lot of hands on training that has been more like a refresher for me,” said Senior Airman Karimah Shinnery, an electrical systems apprentice from the 285th Civil Engineer Squadron.
The airmen moved around to the different shops and assisted with any electrical problems they were having at the time. They worked hand in hand with power production throughout the training site.
“I feel like I have benefited from training at this site, because some of the equipment that they have provided for us here, we don’t have it at home,” said Tech. Sgt. Steven Fergus, electrical systems noncommissioned officer in charge, from 285th Civil Engineer Squadron.
“Proficiency is the key to what we do, and the more hands on we get, the more proficient we get out our job.”
The service members will be utilizing the training site for two weeks to get essential training in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
