INDIANAPOLIS — Senior leaders from United States Army Cyber Command and Army Intelligence and Security Command visited Muscatatuck Urban Training Center for a cyber test and evaluation exercise.

James Royce, an intelligence specialist with ARCYBER visited the Department of Defense’s largest urban training complex as part of a joint partnership with each agency and organization.

“After a search and evaluation of more than 30 open-air test ranges across the country, we determined that only Muscatatuck provided the necessary environment for dismounted, mounted and airborne testing with a physical and digital infrastructure to test our capabilities in an operational environment,” said Royce.

INSCOM is executing a three week user training and operational test along with an advanced concepts demonstration event at Muscatatuck through the month of July.

The event consists of two weeks of user training, one week of operational testing, and four days of emerging technology experimentation.

“This large scale operational test highlights the complexity of the urban and cyber terrain at Muscatatuck,” said Maj. Gen. Courtney P. Carr, Indiana National Guard Adjutant General.

This is the third testing event that INSCOM has conducted at Muscatatuck.

Muscatatuck acts as a real city where virtually everything and everyone are operational at all times. The physical infrastructure includes a well integrated and managed cyber-physical environment, an electromagnetic effects system and real people living and working at the training site.

“Muscatatuck remains the premier location to conduct multi-force cyber training in the Department of Defense for Army Corps and below,” said Carr.
