FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz. – The 111th Military Intelligence Brigade hosted a Change of Command Ceremony for the 304th Military Intelligence Battalion on Brown Parade Field June 15.

Lt. Col. Paul Oh, the outgoing commander of the 304th Military Intelligence Battalion, changed command with Lt. Col. JD Finch. Col. Brian Lieb, Commander of the 111th Military Intelligence Brigade, was the reviewing officer for the ceremony.

“The 304th has continued to make great improvements over the last two years under the leadership of Lt. Col. Oh,” said Lieb. “I can’t say enough about how well you prepared our young officers to lead the Intelligence Warfighting Function. From creating intelligence professionals from new lieutenants, to integrating our many international officers into our forces and into our army family and American culture, to education and preparing Captains for intelligence leadership positions in the operational force.”

Oh hails from Ambler, Pennsylvania and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1997 with a degree in International Relations. Lt. Col. Oh has been selected for promotion to Colonel and will be attending the Army War College this summer.

“My thanks to Maj. Gen. Walters and Col. Lieb who have given me this opportunity to command and provided the guidance and mentorship we needed to complete the mission of the 304th,” said Oh. “Gentlemen, I am in your debt.”

“I cannot think of anyone else the Army could have selected to take command of this battalion,” said Lieb about Finch. “You have the personality, drive, and experience to build upon the great work Paul has done.

Finch earned his commission at West Point, New York in June of 2002. He most recently served in the U.S. Army Central Command as the Analysis Control Element (ACE) Chief in the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade (Theater).

“To the soldiers and civilians of the 304th, I look forward to leading this team, together we will ensure the leaders of the Military Intelligence Corps are ready on day one,” said Finch.

The 304th Military Intelligence Battalion conducts Soldier and Leader training; instilling the Tenets of Leadership, a Warrior Ethos, and the Army Values in order to produce Military Intelligence professionals who can conduct and lead Military Intelligence operations in an Army or Joint-Interagency-Intergovernmental-Multinational (JIIM) environment.
