Pier 8 USPS Office Adds Click-N-Ship Service

BUSAN, Republic of Korea (June 1, 2018) – The United States Postal Service (USPS) has added Click-N-Ship capabilities to its Pier 8 location to better support the increasing amount of service members and families stationed in Busan.

Pier 8 customers can now purchase and print a shipping label from the USPS website, attach it to a package with a customs form and drop the package off at the USPS office for shipping.

The Pier 8 USPS office has resumed retail operations after discontinuing services in 2017 due to a reduction in manpower and new regulations regarding the movement of postal meters. The new service hours for package drop-off are Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

“We are trying to improve the convenience factor and quality of life for our Sailors and families stationed in Busan,” said Capt. Greg Stehman, the assistant chief of staff for logistics assigned to Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK). “Adding the Click-N-Ship program to Pier 8 will save our Sailors and families from having to make the long trip up to Chinhae to ship a package.”

Until recently, USPS customers in the Busan area wanting to use the Click-N-Ship service would have to travel one hour away to Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae (CFAC), which operates the nearest retail USPS office.

For added convenience, Sailors assigned to CNFK can drop off their pre-paid mail and packages to the supply office at CNFK headquarters on Mondays and Wednesdays between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for transport to the Pier 8 USPS office.

Customers who require customer service or need retail items such as stamps, will still have to visit the USPS location at CFAC.

In addition to the USPS office, Pier 8 also provides an Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) mini-mart, an ATM, barber shop and a restaurant.
