    06.10.2018

    Story by Sgt. Savannah Baldwin

    272nd Regional Support Group

Spc. Collin A. Miller of the 1463rd Transportation Company has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the entire unit according to his peers and superiors. Miller has been in the Michigan National Guard for four and a half years but has only been drilling with the 1463rd Transportation Company for two months. In those two months, Miller has cultivated a positive relationship with his new squad and leadership.

"Spc. Miller has an excellent work ethic and conducts his duties with the utmost professionalism," said Sgt. Eric N. Fryer, "He has the trust and respect of his peers and leaders alike".

Miller joined the military to protect his two kids, his five year old son, Lukas, and his 11 month old daughter, Amelia, and to give his part in serving his country.

Outside of the National Guard Miller works as a team lead at a plastics factory called Clariant in Albion, Mich. and enjoys spending time with his kids, playing guitar and hunting in his free time.

Getting the opportunity to be part of a new unit has been very rewarding for Miller.

"I feel like it's a new learning experience," Miller said, "Just being on this annual training with you guys these past couple days I've learned a lot that I haven't in other units".

Miller says he really enjoys the comradery, leadership, and quality of training with the 1463rd.
