15th MEU highlights Cpl. Johan Guardado

Guardado has been with the 15th MEU since April 2018 and will be deploying with the unit in the future. The 15th MEU provides a forward deployed, flexible sea-based Marine Air-Ground Task Force capable of conducting Amphibious Operations, crisis response and limited contingency operations, to include enabling the introduction of follow-on forces, and, designated special operations, in order to support the theater requirements of Geographic Combatant Commanders.

“My job in the Marine Corps is 0411, maintenance management specialist. I oversee maintenance request ensuring Marines get the proper parts they need to do their job. I’ve been with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit since April 2018.”

“I’ve always wanted the opportunity to travel; and with the Marine Corps I could do just that. One of my favorite places is still Washington D.C. The monuments there are symbolic moments in our nation’s history and it was a very humbling experience.”
