Afghan Special Operations Forces (SOF), supported by U.S. advisors, eliminated senior ISIS-K facilitator Yasir during a nighttime air assault raid in Mohmand Darah district, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, May 9.
The raid was part of the Afghan and U.S. Special Operations Forces persistent offensive operations to deny ISIS-K their stated goal of a caliphate in southeastern Nangarhar.
Yasir planned and facilitated ISIS-K attacks against Afghan security forces and civilians in Kabul and along Highway 7, the main corridor for travel from Nangarhar to the Afghan capital.
