The 193rd Special Operations Wing Resiliency Center recently opened on base here.

Wing members hosted a grand opening ceremony at the center April 7, 2018, to inform Airmen of the resources provided by the facility and offer tours of the newly designed building.

“The resiliency center is a place where Airmen and their families can get resources to help them take steps towards having a better quality of life,” said Rachel Hoak, Airman and Family Readiness program manager.

Hoak said there are many resources available for Airmen through the center.

Located in the resiliency center are the chaplains, the wing’s psychologist, the Airman and Family Readiness office, the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office, and the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program coordinator.

The resiliency center’s most recent personnel addition to the wing is Mark Krausman, the Yellow Ribbon support specialist.

“The mission of Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program is to promote the well-being of national guard and reserve service members and their families by connecting them with resources throughout and beyond the deployment cycle,” said Krausman. “Through YRRP, service members and those who support them have access to programs, services, resources and referrals to minimize stress and maximize resiliency during all phases of deployment and reintegration.”

An additional resource of the facility is the new gym located in the rear of the building.

“The gym is not only good to keep (Airmen) physically fit, but it is also a great stress reliever,” said Hoak.

The resiliency center, located in Building 67 on base, operates under normal duty hours. However, each individual resource may be available at different times depending on schedules and needs of Airmen.

“I cannot stress enough how important it is to know what the resources and benefits are for our Airmen,” said Hoak. “These resources are always changing, and just like our benefits, if we don't use them we will lose them.”

For any questions or more information about the resources available at the resiliency center, contact Hoak at 717-948-3155.
