Col. Grant S. Sullivan, United States Army Japan, Assistant Chief of Staff G-1, welcomed the guests and expressed his thanks to all who made the grand opening possible. Maj. Gen. Pasquarette joined Okinawa Defense Bureau, Labor Management Officer, Mr. Yamashiro Masanori in cutting the bright red ribbon placed at the JESO entrance. The two then pulled the ceremonial string attached to a “Kusu-Dama,” (Japanese ceremonial confetti ball) which released bright red balloons, confetti and a banner that read “congratulations’ in Japanese, officially opening JESO Okinawa.
“We are truly happy to open our doors to provide service to Army Japanese employees here on Okinawa. We look forward to adding that special Army touch to outstanding customer service to support and meet their needs,” said Kiyomi “Pat” Nishimoto, Chief, JESO Okinawa.
