CAMP MURRAY—Tech. Sgt. Michalle Austin of the 194th Force Support Squadron received the Diamond Sharp Award from the Western Washington First Sergeant Council here on March 3. Senior Master Sgt. Damian Smith, 194th Wing First Sergeant, recognized Austin for her outstanding customer service while working on the Wing lodging program, which included resolving inquiries and requests for assistance to ensure that Airmen were well taken care of.

The Western Washington First Sergeant Council created the Diamond Sharp award to recognize members of the Total Force who go above and beyond in service to their fellow Airmen. The award consists of a certificate and a special challenge coin from the Western Washington First Sergeant Council.

“First Sergeants are always looking for ways to recognize good people doing good things, and this award is a personal way to show their appreciation,” said Smith.

Previous recipients of the award include Master Sgt. Georgina Black of 194th Information Security, Staff Sgt. Richard Skomurski of the Western Air Defense Sector, and Staff Sgt. Shayna Shon of the 194th Wing. First Sergeants around Western Washington are actively seeking other Airmen, Officers and DOD civilians to recognize with the Diamond Sharp Award.
