    6th Air Refueling Wing

STEM Day is intended to give school-age students the opportunity to interact with units and service members from MacDill and see firsthand how STEM is used in the military and community. This year, we are bringing together several STEM-related exhibits from Hillsborough county schools as well several STEM-related exhibits from the U.S. Air Force. STEM day’s intent is to increase our youth’s awareness of the importance of honing STEM skills to innovate and modernize America’s role as the world’s engine of scientific discovery and technological innovation.

Features of the event will include a MacDill KC-135, a Coast Guard search and rescue helicopter, parachute riggers, bioenvironmental display, crash fire, numerous Air Force level STEM activities and more. Interview opportunities will be made available at the event.

Media interested in covering STEM Day should email the 6 AMW/PA Media Operations box at 6amw.pa.mediaoperations@us.af.mil or call 813-828-3900 by noon on March 19.

Please provide the name, driver’s license number and state of issue of your representatives for access to the base. All media will meet at the Dale Mabry Gate visitors’ reception facility parking lot at 9:45 a.m. on March 21.

For questions please contact the 6th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs, via email at 6amw.pa.mediaoperations@us.af.mil or (813) 828-2215.
