The center has nearly a dozen computers along with comfortable seating and tables for members to utilize while working towards higher education or personal projects.
“There are going to be computers set up with a commercial internet that’s Common Access Card enabled,” said David Conner, 460th Force Support Squadron education and training flight chief. “People new to the base that don’t have an account on Buckley AFB that need to get onto a computer either for Temporary Duty Yonder orders or they’re new to the base and they need to do their cyber training, this lab will allow us to give them a place to do that.”
The main draw of the cyber center is that it will allow members to access university websites and portals, something that can be difficult to do while using installation computers due to the different safe guards installed.
“Primarily we are going to use the Cyber Center as a resource for our Airmen to pursue their voluntary education goals.” said Dawn Hitt, Education Office counselor. “Secondly we are going to promote the e-library services that are on the Air Force portal.”
The Cyber Center will be open to service members on Buckley AFB this spring. For more information regarding the cyber center, call the education office at 720-847-6675
