SINGAPORE (Feb 15, 2017) Military Saves Week will be kicking off for the Singapore military community February 26, 2018.
The incoming week will be an annual opportunity for organizations to promote good savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their own saving status.
Military Saves Week is coordinated by America Saves and the Consumer Federation of America in partnership with the Department of Defense. It essentially acts as a DOD-wide program intended to assist military members around the country practice good saving habits.
In preparation for Military Saves Week 2018, the Singapore Area Coordinator (SAC) and Fleet and Family Readiness Center is spreading the saving message, and urging the community to participate in Military Saves Week and take the Military Saves Pledge.
“In the upcoming week we are trying to reinforce the idea of everyone setting goals for themselves,” said Legalman 1st Class Rebecca Duclayan, command financial specialist. “To help people save more successfully and encourage more people to save, we will be hosting various financial classes led by special guest Kira Dentes, an accredited financial counselor.”
The incoming week’s events will consist of a proclamation signing, personal financial counseling to answer questions and the signing of pledge cards.
Although Military Saves Week targets military members, SAC encourages everyone to come out and take advantage of the financial classes and discussions. These resources provide with the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge on saving methods.
