Sgt. Vanessa Wishon, an 88M (Motor Transport Operator) and Sgt. Cody Wishon, a 92A (Automated Logistical Specialist) both reenlisted today in order to continue their service as Army leaders. The couple first met in October 2013 at Fort Bragg, where they were both in the Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division. Cody was the Company Guidon Bearer when he caught Vanessa’s eye. They became friends and later became workout partners. The couple then were married on November 25th, 2014, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
At Fort Bragg, Vanessa had reenlisted in order to PCS to Italy, with one stipulation. “I wasn’t going unless he came,” stated Vanessa. And so, he did. Today, Cody and Vanessa both love being a part of the 173rd Airborne Brigade and wouldn’t change it for any other duty station.
In the future, Cody looks to become a Drill Sergeant and, later on, a Warrant Officer. Vanessa also would like to become a Warrant Officer. Along the way, they plan to start a family together.
Cody and Vanessa are a testament to keeping fine paratroopers in boots. To the Army, this is always a great accomplishment.
