    AtHoc Emergency Notification System

    CAMP PENDLETON, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES

    02.02.2018

Story by Lance Cpl. Betzabeth Galvan

    Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton

AtHoc equips organizations with the ability to notify users of emergencies such as natural disasters, terrorist attacks or active shooters in a rapid manner through various means of communication, much like the Giant Voice system on the base. This asset notifies the public in real time to ensure safety is paramount.

“AtHoc is a system we use to keep you and your families informed and safe whenever an emergency situation arises,” said Jerome Vanlanker.

To access AtHoc, service members must use their common access cards to enroll themselves into the notification platform. After enrollment, the service members may add their family members and emergency contacts, so they may also be informed of potential dangers on the base and in the surrounding area. While the AtHoc system is available to everyone, it is only available for service members and their families, if they properly enroll.

“It It only works if the service members register themselves and their family members to the system and understand how it works,” said Jerome Vanlanker.

The more our service members and their families know about AtHoc, the better prepared they will be during emergencies. To gain a better understanding about AtHoc and its features, please refer to http://www.pendleton.marines.mil/Emergency-Information/Emergency-Notification-Systems/.
