Lt. Col. Alexandra Greenfield relinquished command of the 233d IS to Major Zachary Nunn and in turn assumed command of the new 132d ISS.

Greenfield commissioned through Iowa State University’s Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) in 1997. She was then selected into the Intelligence career field and started at US Strategic Command (USSTRACOM) in Offutt Air Force Base (AFB), NE in 1998. In June of 2004 Greenfield separated from active duty and continued her service with the Iowa Air National Guard as an intelligence officer in the 132d Operations Support Squadron.

“I’m in a very unique position, there’s not many commanders that get too do what I’ve gotten to do,” said Greenfield. “Not only follow on in the same squadron that I was a DO for and become the commander, but stay within the same group.”

Greenfield thank a lot of her leaders, mentors and Airmen under her command for helping her grow and learn in all of her positions. She looks forward to learning and growing furthermore with the Airmen of the 132d ISS.

“I consider myself very blessed to have been able to really experience this kind of progression,” said Greenfield.

The 233d IS is Nunn’s first command position. Nunn said he couldn’t have done any of it without his wife, Kelly, and their three children, Addi, Canon and Olympia.

“To the officers, SNCOs, NCOs and men and women of the 233d IS, from the front lines to the home front, your knowledge and our knowledge together is ensuring a safer, more secure world,” said Nunn
Nunn said he knows that the Airmen of the 233d IS and the Iowa Air National Guard will be ready for whatever is thrown their way, whether it be base, state or federal needs. He said that he will do whatever it takes to ensure their success.

“Today as your newest member, every action we take will be designed to ensure that our squadron is ready for the threats of today and those in the future,” said Nunn.
