Afghan National Army’s 203rd Corps and Afghan Special Security Forces, led by the Commandos of 8th Special Operations Kandak, freed an Afghan citizen imprisoned by the Taliban in Tangi Valley, Logar province, Afghanistan, Dec. 6, 2017. The Afghan special operators killed nine Taliban and detained another after assaulting the Taliban’s compound.

The Afghan citizen was discovered during the precision search of the Taliban facility. The search also resulted in the seizure of a weapons cache, ammunition, and 60 liters of homemade explosives.

The ASSF are conducting simultaneous offensive operations across Afghanistan to deny Taliban and ISIS-K a safe haven throughout the winter.
