Fort Wayne IAP, IN – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants donated 100 toys to the 122nd Fighter Wing, Fort Wayne, Ind. IANG November 30, 2017, from the Grand Wayne Convention Center, Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Mad Ants, the Indiana Pacers NBA G League franchise, in conjunction with the Indiana Pacers and Jakks Pacific participated in the Pacers Season of Giving for the third consecutive year. The Season of Giving is a part of the PacersCares program.

Herbert Simon, owner of the Indiana Pacers and Stephen Berman, CEO of Jakks Pacific have donated over 5,000 toys a year for several years to non-profit organizations throughout Indiana.

“Mr. Simon, who owns the Pacers, Pacers Sports Entertainment and the Mad Ants, along with his good friend Mr. Berman have donated toys for several years,” said Tim Bawmann, President of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. “This is the third year we’ve done it here in Allen County and we are just happy to be able to make everyone’s holiday a little bit more special.”

"The Mad Ants have been donating toys to the Blacksnakes through the Indiana Pacers organization for three years and we can't thank them enough.” said Col. Patrick Renwick, 122nd Fighter Wing Commander. “These toys go to our sponsored Holiday Families and other families assigned to the wing that are in need during the holiday season.”

Each year, area organizations and community partners donate meals, toys and services to assist area service members who may be struggling during the holiday season. Any current service member assigned to a military unit in Allen County can apply to become a Holiday Family and receive assistance with gifts this year at the 122nd Fighter Wing Airman & Family Readiness Center at 260-478-3409.

“It is truly a season of giving, and that holiday spirit can reverberate even more within our Airmen because of donations like these from our amazing community members,” said Renwick.
