Afghan Special Operations maintain pressure on Taliban and ISIS throughout Afghanistan

Afghan Special Security Forces inflicted significant damage on the Taliban and ISIS-K in Nangarhar and Balkh provinces last week in Joy Shor Village, Chimtal District, Balkh province and ISIS-K in Mohmand Valley, Nangarhar province. Conducting night time special operations raids, the Afghan SOF removed more than 15 anti-government fighters, destroyed an anti-aircraft weapon, IED making materials, and enemy propaganda.

After delivery of assault forces by helicopters, the ASSF used their superior training and night vision capability to defeat the Taliban and ISIS-K during decisive engagements.

The ASSF protect the Afghan people through offensive operations that degrade the ability of the Taliban and ISIS-K to conduct attacks against Afghan civilians and government institutions. Cooperation among the Afghan SOF units illustrates the Afghan National Defense Security Forces’ will to conduct year-round offensive operations.
