MUÑIZ AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Puerto Rico. (Nov. 22, 2017) – Dominican Republic aircrew aboard a Casa C-212-400 Aviocar aircraft delivered relief supplies to the 156th Airlift Wing, Nov. 22, 2017.
Representatives from the Dominican Republic delivered pallets of water, food, tarps, and other supplies to help Airmen and their families during this time of recovery.
“We are honored to bring help to Puerto Rico from the government of Dominican Republic, due to the solidarity and partnership of our countries,” said Dominican Republic Col. Manuel Figuereo, on behalf of Dominican Republic Major Gen. Pilot Luis N. Payan-Diaz.
The donations received were delivered to the Emergency Family Assistance Center on Muñiz Air National Guard Base.
“We want to express our gratitude to the Dominican Republic for bringing donations for our Airmen,” said Chief Master Sgt. Luis Acevedo, the superintendent of maintenance operations flight, on behalf of the 156th Wing Commander, Col. Raymond Figueroa.
People of the Caribbean islands experience hurricane seasons every year and the island communities always band together to assist one another during times of need. The Dominican Republic wanted to let the Airmen of Puerto Rico that they are there for them through this act of support.
