    Soldiers and families,

The 310th ESC's continuous focus is Suicide Prevention trainings. The
mandatory Suicide Prevention trainings are Ask, Care, and Escort (ACE) which is ninety (90) minutes of training for Soldiers and one hundred and twenty(120) minutes for civilians.

Ask, Care, Escort - Suicide Intervention (ACE-SI) Training is dedicated for company level, junior leaders and first-line supervisors. The mandatory training four (4) hours long and the key learning objective is to train the skills required to intervene in a suicidal situation. ACE SI Trainers are certified by attending a Train-The-Trainer Class, six (6) hours in duration; serving as a trainer in three (3) individual ACE-SI classes, followed by verification and sign-off by the local command's Suicide Prevention Program Manager (SPPM). The Soldier Leader Risk Reduction Tool (SLRRT) training should be conducted immediately following the ACE-Suicide Intervention Course, but it is a training tool that can be trained at any leader development session.

The target audience for this training are the Junior and First Line Leaders,
although all leaders can benefit from this block of instruction. Highly
recommended is Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), it's the Army's approved intervention training for Gatekeepers. It is a two-day
workshop with a key learning objective of at-risk suicidal awareness and
intervention skills training. The key training objective is awareness
training (risk factors and warning signs) IAW AR 600-63. Through
leadership, education, and respect for each other, we can reduce the stigma
associated with seeking help to deal with life stressors that often times
lead to expressions of suicidal ideations or suicide attempts.
