Maj. Gen. Stephen Farmen and Command Sgt. Maj. Gene Canada of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command presented coins to several employees who work in the Security Assistance Management Directorate of the Aviation and Missile Command during a visit on Nov. 14.
AMCOM SAMD employees build strategic partnerships with foreign allied nations who request to purchase U.S. Army aviation and missile systems. AMCOM SAMD is operationalized with USASAC to manage foreign military sales of aviation and missile systems.
Farmen praised the teamwork of SAMD employees and said their work increases the Army’s strategic readiness.
USASAC and the Army’s Security Assistance Management Directorates such as AMCOM SAMD “build partnership capacity, and support and strengthen global partnerships. We build, support and strengthen to shape the fight, and to be agile and adaptive in our formations,” Farmen said.
The following employees received awards:
• Tonya Alford, International Program Manager for Sweden and Afghanistan, UH-60 Black Hawk Programs, Utility Systems Division -- Her efforts resulted in case implementation and delivery of the first aircraft in Afghanistan within 90 days of receipt of funding.
• Michele Robinson, Plans and Operations -- She planned and coordinated this year’s SAMD organization day for more than 400 employees and family members.
• Greg Welborn, Business Management Office – He developed a workload-based Foreign Military Sales administration budget allocation model for SAMD using Pre-Letter of Request data from eCollab, total DSAMS tasks, forecasted sales, and total case lines. This will be used to distribute FMS Admin funding to SAMD Divisions beginning Fiscal year 2019.
• Tiffini Morgan, International Program Manager for the U.S. Pacific Command, Tactical Missile – She exhibited stellar work ethic and outstanding performance in the management of the Australian Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) Program. She coordinated the successful completion of a train-the-trainer event and initial fielding testing event.
• Alison Young, Japan and India International Program Manager, Attack Division – Her exemplary performance and dedication contributed significantly to the successful execution of two Program Reviews supporting Japan and India.
• Tonya Howard, Patriot -- She managed the Kuwait Repair and Return program valued at more than $15 million. She is responsible for ensuring Kuwait requirements are included on Raytheon and Lockheed Martin repair contracts and statuses are updated.
• Nikki Shockley, Non-Standard Missile -- She excelled in several areas of the Non-Standard Missile Division, to include Logistics, Fair Share Sustainment Manager and, most recently, as the lead for HAWK and CHAPARRAL Repair and Return. After 12 years in the Non-Standard Missile Division, she will now move to the Attack Systems Division.
• Ken Bernhardt, Non-Standard Aviation – He serves as the Lead International Program Manager for Central Command countries in the Non-Standard Aviation Systems Division. During the past two years, his team has delivered in excess of $112 million in goods and services to Build Partner Capacity in the Central Command’s area of responsibility.
