NEW CASTLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Del. - Approximately 12 Aeromedical personnel from the 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron deployed to assist in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017.
The twelve Aeromedical Airmen consisted of five flight nurses, one health services administrator, and six Aeromedical Evacuation technicians. They departed on a Del. ANG C-130H out of the Delaware Air National Guard Base in New Castle, Delaware and will fly directly to the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (Carswell Field) Fort Worth, Texas.
The 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Team will provide medical care to evacuating Hurricane Harvey victims.
Hurricane Harvey has dropped over 50 inches of rain in parts of Southwest Texas, leaving residents homeless and living in shelters.
President Donald J. Trump is also visiting Texas today to meet with families who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey as well as volunteers with the rescue and recovery efforts.
The 166th Airlift Wing provides trained personnel and equipment for various humanitarian missions to protect life and property and preserve peace, order and public safety, under competent orders of state authorities.
