Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) Corry Station completed its first Course Supervisor Course, Aug. 29.

Thirteen of the command’s 32 course supervisors attended the two-day class. The training is part of IWTC Corry Station’s initiative to strengthen its instructional delivery mission.

“This is just one example of the command’s team approach in working toward training solutions that improve what we are tasked to accomplish” said Master Chief Cryptologic Technician (Collection) Eddy Mejias, IWTC Corry Station’s Senior Enlisted Leader.

The course aims to provide the baseline knowledge required for course supervisors to efficiently manage their courses of instruction, maintain instructor records and proficiency, and ensure course curriculum currency in accordance with Naval Education and Training Command, Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT), and IWTC Corry Station instructions.

“The CIWT Learning Standards Office’s (LSO) advice has been beneficial in helping us focus our initial improvement efforts”, said Thomas Priest, one of the course developers.

George Trice, IWTC Corry Station’s Training Director, said that the command’s leadership has engaged in a long-term, sustained, continual instructional process improvement approach. He went on to say that, during the 2018 fiscal year, the command will continue to develop its course supervisors and focus its efforts on improving course quality.

“One of the more important things I learned during this class was the vast amount of resources that I will be using as a course supervisor,” said Chief Cryptologic Technician (Collection) Nicholas Pujado. “Additionally, the experience of the instructors and the students in the class was incredible. The questions and answers flowing during the course were enlightening; questions I didn’t even know I had, were answered.”

IWTC Corry Station, as part of the Center for Information Warfare Training, provides a continuum of training to Navy and joint service personnel that prepares them to conduct information warfare (IW) across the full spectrum of military operations.
