JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (Aug. 5, 2017) – Four 624th Regional Support Group senior NCOs were placed on the Air Force Reserve Command 2017 Enlisted Key Personnel List.

The enlisted KPL is published by AFRC annually; less than 15 percent of senior NCOs that apply make the list. Personnel named to this list are identified as potential future leaders for the Air Force Reserve.

The 624th RSG members selected for the KPL are:
Senior Master Sgt. Jasen M. Holguin
Senior Master Sgt. Peter Y. Rieta
Senior Master Sgt. Edgardo A. Santos
Senior Master Sgt. Andre N. Valentine

“The KPL allows for broader career progression,” said Col. Kenneth M. Lute, the 624th RSG commander. “Being on the list opens doors when career opportunities arise.”

In order to be considered for the KPL, Reserve Citizen Airmen must complete the Reserve Enlisted Development Plan, located in the virtual Personnel Center. The R-EDP is an electronic form filled out by applicants answering questions about desired assignments, education and work background, volunteerism and goals. It also includes coordination comments from senior leadership.

“To get here, it took many years of dedication, hard work and perseverance,” said Senior Master Sgt. Edgardo A. Santos, the 624th Aerospace Medicine superintendent. “It is a great honor to be selected to the Key Personnel List. It opens new training and joint assignment opportunities, and provides great opportunity to continue to develop as a senior NCO.”

Completing the R-EDP is a member’s only opportunity to be scored, vectored and considered for their career field's KPL. Regardless of whether an applicant makes the KPL or not, the applicant receives vectors from the board. A vector is a recommendation on how to strengthen one’s package and potentially consider other career opportunities.

Senior Master Sgt. Peter Y. Rieta, the 48th Aerial Port Squadron training manager, is encouraged by the selection.

“It's a humbling experience that provides me the reassurance that I am doing good and on the right path,” said Rieta.

Along with being recognized as a subject matter expert and leader in their career field, there are other benefits to submitting an R-EDP.

“I hope being a part of the KPL will help me to find my next opportunity in the Reserves and give me another opportunity to help Airmen be part of the KPL as well,” said Senior Master Sgt. Jasen M. Holguin, the 624th personnel superintendent.

Being placed on the KPL is a major accomplishment, said Chief Master Sgt. Hector Dominguez, the 624th RSG command chief.

"Congratulations on making the E8/E9 KPL for this year,” said Dominguez. “You are among the best senior NCOs in the United States Air Force Reserve and you should be proud of this accomplishment.”
