    U.S. Army Materiel Command

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- Pinning on his third-star, Lt. Gen. Edward Daly assumed duties as the 46th deputy commanding general of Army Materiel Command, Aug. 7. An intimate ceremony took place at AMC headquarters surrounded by his family, friends and colleagues.

Daly is no stranger to the materiel enterprise. He previously served as AMC's deputy chief of staff, overseeing the command’s day-to-day operations. Most recently, he commanded Army Sustainment Command, the executing arm of AMC’s equipping mission.

"Lieutenant General Daly is a master logistician whose breadth and depth of experience will continue to serve Army Materiel Command well," said Gen. Gus Perna, commanding general of AMC. "I have full faith and confidence that he will excel in his new role and as my deputy."
Daly said he is enthusiastic to return to AMC headquarters.

"I am honored and privileged to serve as deputy commanding general of Army Materiel Command, where we synchronize and integrate sustainment capabilities to deliver readiness to the warfighter at the tactical and operational points of need,” said Daly. “I am laser-focused on the AMC Commanding General's priorities, which are synchronized with the Chief of Staff of the Army's, and look forward to my role in providing materiel readiness to the force."

He will also serve as senior commander for Redstone Arsenal, where his responsibilities include overseeing base operations support and serving as the senior installation representative in surrounding communities' activities and events.

“I am excited to return to the Tennessee Valley, a place where our partnerships with the community are unparalleled,” Daly said. “Redstone Arsenal is a diverse installation with a global impact, and as senior commander, I look forward to working alongside our community leaders as a collaborative partner and contributing member of the community.”
