Ryan Twist of Springfield, Illinois, a human resources noncommissioned officer with Joint Force Headquarters, Illinois National Guard, was promoted to the rank of staff sergeant during a ceremony at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois July 18.
Twist’s sons Braydon and Braxton participated in the ceremony by removing the previous rank and applying the new rank to his uniform during the ceremony.
Twist is a Clinton, Illinois, native and a 2001 graduate of Hickman County High School in Clinton, Kentucky. He enlisted in the Illinois National Guard in 2001 and has served on multiple deployments overseas.
