HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a 46-year-old man after his fall from a railroad bridge, over the San Jacinto River near Highlands, Saturday afternoon.
At 12:09 p.m., Highland Park Emergency Medical Services contacted Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders to report that a man walking on the bridge had fallen 20 feet onto the rocks below and they needed help getting him out of the remote location.
A Highlands EMT walked a mile to reach the man’s location and stabilized him. Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin aircrews arrived on scene at 1:19 p.m. and medevaced the man to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The man is reported to be in stable condition.
