    06.08.2017

Story by 2nd Lt. Carla Stefaniak

    22nd Air Refueling Wing

During the series’ Military Appreciation Night, Warren, along with other veterans and service members, was recognized for her service in the Air Force.

“It was such an honor and an awesome experience to be chosen to represent McConnell in such a big way,” said Warren. “It was humbling to have people approach me after and thank me for my service.”

Warren, a Hazlet, New Jersey native, played softball in her youth, and leaped at the opportunity to participate and represent McConnell and the Air Force.

“Having played [softball] when I was younger, I was so excited to throw the first pitch,” she said. “But when I stood in the middle of the field, I saw thousands of people looking at me, and got nervous, because I didn’t want to mess up in front of all of these people.”

Oklahoma University won in the top of the 7th inning against the University of Florida, 5-4.
