    KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. – On Friday, the 403rd Wing announced its quarterly award winners for the Jan. 1 through March 31 award period. Winners were chosen in the Airman, noncommissioned officer, senior NCO, company grade officer and civilian categories.

    Airman of the Quarter – Senior Airman Shirlanna Washington, 403rd Force Support Squadron. Washington lowered the DD214 backlog by 15 percent, earned a Society of Human Relations Management certification and helped process 117 Reserve Citizen Airmen through a pre-deployment function line during a deployment exercise. She also assisted with presenting information about the Human Resources Development Council to a visiting major general.

    NCO of the Quarter – Tech. Sgt. Thomas Barnaby, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron. Barnaby supervised the quality control of 785 weather instruments leading to the correction of 61 discrepancies, identified a faulty aircraft antenna leading to the restoration of data collection and helped lead the inter-service Gulf of Mexico operational demonstration. He also briefed more than 300 ROTC cadets during a base-wide event showcasing the wing’s capabilities.

    Senior NCO of the Quarter – Master Sgt. Sierra Davis, 403rd Wing Staff Agencies. As the wing’s Yellow Ribbon program representative, Davis helped more than 7,000 Airmen and family members reintegrate after or prepare for deployment, she reviewed and processed 18 overdue travel vouchers. She also volunteered 240 hours as a counselor at the Mobile County Community Corrections.

    CGO of the Quarter – Capt. Wendy Ray, 36th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. Ray increased the AE nursing manning by 15 percent, streamlined the squadron’s rating process and completed a doctorate degree in nursing. She also volunteered with the 403rd Wing Recruiting Office at local and regional fairs to highlight the 36th AES mission to potential recruits.

    Civilian of the Quarter – Kimberly Doyle, 403rd Operations Group. Doyle scripted and organized the 403rd OG commander’s promotion ceremony and attended a New Beginnings Performance Plan writing course. She was also elected the Parent Advisory Board secretary serving 200 parents and 75 staff members as well as serving 100 youth.
