Press Release: WSU Grad Returns to Graduate WA, ID ROTC Cadets

Pullman, Wash. – Twenty cadets in Air Force Reserve Officer Training at Washington State University, the University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State College will receive their commission into the U.S. Air Force at the University of Idaho auditorium, May 12.

The graduates from AFROTC Detachment 905, which has approximately 100 cadets, will enter the U.S. Air Force as second lieutenants and have been selected for the following careers: Acquisitions, Cyberspace Operations, Civil Engineer, Developmental Engineering, Intelligence, Navigator, and Pilot.

Air Force Maj. Gen. Christopher Bence, a graduate of WSU, will be the commissioning official for the event. The Joint service commissioning ceremony will also include approximately 30 Cadets and Midshipmen from Army and Navy detachments at WSU and UI.

Maj. Gen. Bence is the commander of the USAF Expeditionary Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. The USAF EC is made up of 14,000 Airmen who deliver installation support, contingency response, global air transportation services, and education and training in more than 28 countries.
