Fleet Cyber Command Announces Sailors of the Quarter

U.S. Fleet Cyber Command / U.S. 10th Fleet

FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. (NNS) – Three Sailors assigned to U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. 10th Fleet (FCC/C10F) were recognized as the command’s Sailors of the Quarter for the 2nd quarter of the fiscal year 2017.

Intelligence Specialist 1st Class Brian Ott, Yeoman 2nd Class David Modisette, and Information Systems Technician Seaman Kiana Fortin were selected as Senior Sailor, Junior Sailor and Blue Jacket of the Quarter respectively.

“One of the most important things we do as an organization is recognizing our people for their hard work and dedication,” said Capt. James Mills, FCC/C10F chief of staff. “These three Sailors have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the mission at FCC/C10F over the last quarter and are well deserving of this award.”

U.S. Fleet Cyber Command serves as the Navy component command to U.S. Strategic Command and U.S. Cyber Command, and the Navy’s Service Cryptologic Component commander under the National Security Agency/Central Security Service. Fleet Cyber Command also reports directly to the Chief of Naval Operations as an Echelon II command.

U.S. 10th Fleet is the operational arm of Fleet Cyber Command and executes its mission through a task force structure similar to other warfare commanders. In this role, C10F provides operational direction through its Maritime Operations Center located at Fort George Meade Md., executing command and control over assigned forces in support of Navy or joint missions in cyber/networks, information operations, electronic warfare, cryptologic/signals intelligence and space.
