Ryan Daniel, lead singer for the Ryan Daniel Band, performed for the Team BLAZE community here March 31.

The event included a concert and free face painting, bounce houses, popcorn and snow cones, as well as other food for sale.

Daniel started the show with a few cover songs and a shout out to the Columbus Air Force Base leadership for the honor of performing here. He then went straight into songs from his newest album where he rambunctiously ran around the stage and crowd.

Between songs Daniel would tell stories about his Air Force experience. He spent nearly 10 years in the Air Force as an ammunition specialist and during that time he also toured with Tops in Blue, the former elite touring group of the Air Force.

“I loved everything about the Air Force,” Daniel said. “I’d still be in if it wasn’t for what I’m doing now.”

Daniel said he loves performing for service members and proudly supports every branch of the military. He gave credit to service members, saying they are the reason he gets to live his rock star lifestyle.

“I’m excited to be here,” Daniel said. “It’s good to be here and I can’t wait to see everybody out and I hope we get to come back.”

Daniel wrapped up the show by thanking everyone for attending. Earlier that day he also gave some advice to the younger Airmen.

“You can be anything you want to be,” Daniel said. “If you set your mind to be a chief, Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, or go to school and become a four star general then go do it. No one is going to hand it to you, but go do it.”
