Lance Cpl. Kaenon Ralls of Easton, Kan. works as a supply administrator for Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (Reinforced) but is filling in for a “ship’s tax” billet while aboard USS America. He helps to run and supply the ship store everyday for Marines and Sailors to enjoy little comforts that are attainable during ship life.
His daily responsibilities are restocking shelves, organizing the storage room, cleaning the store, working as a cashier and occasionally, door guard to control the flow of Marines and Sailors entering the store.
“I enjoy coming to work every day, and even staying late most days for the camaraderie and brotherhood,” said Ralls. “The people I work with are motivated and spirited, which motivates me.”
Ralls’ mother and three older brothers were in the Military, and he decided to follow in his mother’s footsteps as a supply administrator.
“I joined the Marine Corps because I wanted to do what my mom did,” Ralls said with a smile. “I want to make her proud.”
After joining the Marine Corps and carrying on the family legacy, Ralls found himself attached to the 15th MEU and is currently conducting Amphibious Squadron-Marine Expeditionary Unit Integration in preparation of the upcoming deployment later this year.
The Blue-Green team is working together during PMINT, ensuring mission accomplishment and unit cohesion, to include running a ship the size of a small city.
Thank you LCpl Ralls for being an outstanding member of the BullRush Team!
