    704th Military Intelligence Brigade

FORT MEADE, Maryland – On an afternoon that was both reminiscent and bright, Master Sgt. Anthony Good retired from the Army April 5, after 20 years of faithful service.

“With all things, you have to know when it’s time to pass the baton,” said Good as he reflected on his career during his retirement ceremony at Club Meade on Fort Meade, Maryland. “I do so today to the junior, middle and senior enlisted members in this room, as well as the officers and other leaders that are charged with carrying the mission forward.”

Good served as the senior enlisted leader for Computer Network Operations in the 741st Military Intelligence Battalion, returning to the 704th MI Brigade for the second time in his career after multiple deployments and countless trips around the world.

“While deployed to Afghanistan five years ago, I realized there was an underlying concept that I now consider milestones of my career; me taking a chance, others taking a chance on me, and me giving others a chance,” Good said as he addressed more than 50 Joint Service Members and Civilians in attendance.

Lt. Col Galen R. Kane, commander, 741st MI Bn., said he wouldn’t be surprised if Good returned to the brigade one day in the future to have the Army’s CNO Development Center named after him.

“Your true legacy is the countless Soldiers and service members you’ve coached, trained and mentored over the past two decades,” said Kane. “Your legacy is strong because of your commitment to mission excellence and passionate care for developing others.”

Good’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Joint Service Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, and the Knowlton Award.

Good thanked his wife of 18 years and their two sons for their loving support to him throughout his military career.

“Carol, Michael, and Sean, I ask you to remember that I did these things for you, and I will keep doing everything I can for you until the day I die. I love you all,” Good said.
