SCOTTSDALE, Ariz -- The Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program held a partnership signing agreement between the U.S. Army and GlobalTranz, March 30, GlobalTranz Headquarters, Scottsdale, Arizona.

The event was attended by more than 250 people, including representatives from the Phoenix Recruiting Battalion, PaYS and GlobalTranz.

The agreement between GlobalTranz and PaYS is part of a program designed to prepare, train and connect Soldiers to future employers.

The PaYS program ensures Soldiers are guaranteed a job interview with a PaYS partner of their choice after completing their Army Reserve training or first term of active duty service. The program provides employers with a pool of highly skilled, motivated and professional candidates from which they can fill their personnel needs.

Since its beginnings in 2003, GlobalTranz has delivered innovative transportation technology solutions and logistics services that support over 25,000 shippers and power freight agent operations across North America. As a $500 million top 12 freight brokerage, it is the 7th fastest-growing and 10th largest private company in Arizona.

This type of rapid growth and success makes GlobalTranz an ideal PaYS partner, said Lt. Col. David Clukey, commander, Phoenix Recruiting Battalion, who praised GlobalTranz for their initiative in seeking qualified Army candidates to help continue their growth.

“Global Tranz can be proud of the fact they are directly helping young men and women who are willing to sacrifice their lives to protect America's freedom,” Clukey said. “GlobalTranz will now have the opportunity to select from a controlled flow of quality employment candidates from the U.S. Army.”

The Army seeks resilient and fit people of character who represent the diversity of America, Clukey continued, adding this is the pool of potential employees GlobalTranz will now have access to.

“These are candidates who have established a positive work ethic, have values, have entry to mid-level leadership skills, are tested free and clear of drugs and have honorably served or are serving their country,” he said.

The partnership was also lauded by Bob Farrell, chief executive officer, GlobalTranz, who said hiring experienced veterans will help further the company.

“We’re working very hard and diligently every day to grow (GlobalTranz) and the fabric of the company is based on the quality of workers we can get,” Farrell said. “The PaYS program and our ability to hire veterans will allow us to continue our growth by bringing great people into the company who have learned a lot in their military service.”

These veterans will bring a unique set of skills into the GlobalTranz workplace, he continued.

“We’re excited about the opportunities about to be provided to us by the PaYS program,” Farrell said. “I’m pleased to be part of it and look forward to the future.”
