    Coast Guard medevacs man with back injury from remote location

    CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Coast Guard helicopter crew medevaced an injured man near an isolated fishing cabin about 8 miles south of Baffin Bay, along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Friday.

    The person medevaced was a 46-year-old male from San Antonio.
    At 5:15 p.m., the injured man’s father called Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders to report his son’s injuries. He reported that his son sustained serious injuries from a fall.

    An Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew responded to the report, arrived on scene at 6:40 p.m. and returned with the injured man to the air station at 7:24 p.m.

    The injured man was received by EMS and taken to Corpus Christi Medical Center — Bay Area.
