    193rd Special Operations Wing

Awareness not sales. Educating the future about their future.

Chief Master Sgt. William Yingling, 193rd Special Operations Wing’s newest command chief and Tech. Sgt. Jordan Parrish, 193rd SOW production recruiter and retainer, spoke to a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps class at Gettysburg High School, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, March 23, 2017.

Airman 1st Class Chase Deckert, 193rd Special Operations Maintenance Squadron aircraft metals technology apprentice and 2016 Gettysburg HS graduate joined Yingling and Parrish to talk about his experience so far.

Parrish said it was nice to bring someone who still knows students.

Deckert was recruited by Parrish at the annual Pennsylvania Farm Show

Parrish who has been doing the job for a little over two years, who said he doesn’t consider himself a salesman, that his job is to create awareness and hopefully by doing so that the wing will get individuals interested in the Air National Guard and hopefully the 193rd SOW.

It very uplifting to be at his Alma and hopefully that he pass on what he has learned, said Yingling, 1986 Gettysburg HS graduate.

Yingling said “If a student is in JROTC then there some interest with a military career and hopefully we can help point them in the right direction.”

The 193rd SOW production recruiting and retaining team strive to educate and bring awareness to not just JROTC students, but all high school students throughout the state, whether it be at their schools or a booth at the farm show.
