New 1st TSC CSM meets 1CD RSSB Soldiers

Willett toured several of 1CD RSSB’s areas of operation on BAF including the sling load yard, fuel farm, mortuary affairs facility, postal and customs facilities, Army Field Support Battalion-Afghanistan and the National Afghan Trucking yard.
“It is always great when leadership takes the time to come and visit with Soldiers,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Jill L. Crosby, command sergeant major, 1CD RSSB. “It gives leadership the opportunity to see firsthand what 1CD RSSB Soldiers are doing in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.”
Willet, who assumed responsibility of 1st TSC March 3, was briefed on the capabilities of the 1CD RSSB, which provides logistics expertise and sustainment support throughout the Combined Joint Operations Area-Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
Crosby, hosted a lunch with enlisted Soldiers and a dinner with senior-enlisted Soldiers where, at both gatherings, Willett was introduced to all of the Soldiers and learned one interesting fact about each of them.
“I’ve done a lot of great things in my career, but nothing is more rewarding than the relationships I have had in the Army,” said Willett.
Willett told the Soldiers to take advantage of the opportunities the Army provides in both military and civilian education.
He explained to senior-enlisted Soldiers his idea of leadership.
Willett said he hopes the Soldiers he leads want to do their best for him as a person, not because of his rank.
“The number one resource we have in the military is people,” said Willett. “If you take care of your people, they will take care of you.”
