Story by Master Sgt. Robin Brown

Tennessee National Guard Public Affairs Office

The VA and PsychArmor Institute have created a series of free online courses to help you or a family member caring for a Veteran with a variety of issues, such as grief, TBI, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

“These are engaging and interactive courses available online,” said Beverly Taylor, the Psychological Health Director at the Tennessee Air National Guard’s 118th Wing in Nashville, Tenn.

“More courses are coming, such as ‘Understanding the VA for Caregivers’,” said Taylor.

The VA also offers a Caregiver Support Line to assist with questions about eligible services, or even if you are in need of immediate assistance, a licensed professional will be able to help over the phone at 1-855-260-3274.

More information, including a free six-week online workshop called “Building Better Caregivers,” is available at http://www.caregiver.va.gov/.
